Life long Bury supporter Tony Cunningham and his
partner Jean Leckenby opened Chocoholics on
Minden Parade in the Millgate Shopping Centre in
Bury in December 1997 (and what a happy time
that was to be a Shakers fan!) as a specialist
Chocolate shop, selling chocolates from around
the world.
Before long they saw a gap in the market for an
up-market Tea & Coffee Lounge, which they added
to the rear of the shop.
As they realised at the time, there were plenty
of easting establishments in the town, but none
catering for the more refined customer.
The shoppers of Bury soon realised that there
was a little oasis in the middle of this
frenetic shopping centre, and trade was such
that more room was required for their ever
expanding number of customers.
Although still selling well, it became obvious
to Tony and Jean that the Chocolate side of the
business has been well and truly overtaken by
the catering side and as much more space was
turned over. |
With an expanding dining area, kitchen and menu,
Chocoholics Tea & Coffee Lounge now
serves a full array of drinks, snacks and main
meals. Tony and Jean pride themselves on the
fact that Chocoholics Tea & Coffee Lounge
offers a bright and relaxed atmosphere, waitress
service and the very best selection of food and
drinks available.
With over a dozen freshly ground coffees and a
similar number of loose leaf teas to choose
from, plus a wide range of excellent main meals
and tasty snacks, Chocoholics Tea & Coffee
Lounge strives to continue to provide the
very best in service, selection and quality for
the more discerning shopper in Bury Town Centre.
